Monsterborg with PS3 Controller

Hi

I'm busy trying to resurrect my Monsterborg but I'm having problems getting an official PS3 controller to connect via bluetooth. I'm running a Pi3B and Stretch. It appears to "see" the controller but repeatedly says "failed to connect"

Any ideas? Thanks!!

From the messages shown it looks like the controller may already be connected in some way.

Try jumping to the "trust" step and see what happens:

sudo bluetoothctl
discoverable on
agent on
trust 05:AA:7A:AB:63:25

Hi.

I tried that but when I try to connect or do the js-test thingy it doesn’t find anything.

The really irritating thing is that I have previously had it working (with a different official controller).

It might help if we can get some more detail about this controller. Could you take a screenshot after doing the following:

  1. Power off the Raspberry Pi
  2. Make sure the controller is not attached via the USB cable
  3. Power the Raspberry Pi
  4. Connect the PS3 controller using the USB cable now
  5. Wait a few seconds
  6. Run this command: dmesg

You should see something like the image below with lines talking about the controller being connected.

If you could take a copy / screenshot of the output for us to look at :)
