Robot Designers Wanted
Freeburn Robotics works in many areas from educational robotics through to
commercial products and industrial control systems.
We have multiple permanent positions to work in a variety of disciplines.
We are after enthusiastic and multi-skilled people. The broader the better.
Current Vacancies:
Electronics Design Engineer (Entry level)
Experience in one or more areas (hobby or commercial)
- Circuit design
- Schematic capture & layout
- Simulation tools
- Soldering / Rework
- Analogue and Digital
- Debugging circuitry
- Using Oscilloscopes / Function generators etc.
Advantageous experience
- Altium Designer
- Python
- Linux
- Raspberry Pi
- Any of Mechanical design engineer spec
- Translation into a language other than English
Day to day duties would include:
Researching, Designing, building and testing Robotics & other systems.
Collaborating on design. Although it certainly won't make up the majority of
your work, we will expect you to pack orders and assemble kits for brief
periods. Everyone in the company does this including the director!
Starting salary: Circa 16K depending on experience
Location: Near St.Ives, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 37.5hr week. Flex may be negotiated
Mechanical Design Engineer Position filled
Experience in one or more areas (hobby or commercial)
- Designing products from scratch
- Capturing requirements
- Use of Parametric CAD
- Machining
- Making prototypes
- Designing for production
Advantageous experience
- PTC Creo
- Lathes/Mills/Injection moulding/Laser cutting
- Ability to translate into other languages
- Any of Electronics design engineer spec
- Small volume production
Day to day duties would include:

Starting salary: 18-24K depending on experience
Start date: October-November
Location: Near St.Ives, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 37.5hr week. Flex may be negotiated
All roles subject to three month probationary period.
