Quad motor controller

Hi. Just starting out with a Raspbery Pi and have ordered a PicoBorg quad motor controller.
It shows it to be compatible with my 3B model on the website.
I expected it to to plug into the 40 pin connector but it comes with a 26 pin connector.
Do I need an adaptor cable?
Any help would be gratefully received.

Using PicoBorg with newer Raspberry Pi models
No adapter cable is needed, the PicoBorg just plugs onto the first 26 pins of the GPIO header.

It should be positioned so that it overlaps the Raspberry Pi, like this:
