Two 5V pins

The Thunderborg has two 5v pins on it and I wasn't quite sure which each one does. Are both necessary? From looking around the best guess I have is that one is to supply power to the daisy chain connector and the other is to feed the power back to the pi, but I'm not quite sure. If that is the case, it's safe to only use one of the connectors right?

Both pins are exactly the same, supplying 5V to anything they are connected to. You are right that only one 5V pin (and the GND) needs to be connected to power the Raspberry Pi :)

Having two per connector makes it easier to connect 5V to more devices if needed and mirrors the first 6 pins of the GPIO header.
